Belarusian NPP

KIEP has years of successful experience in power-plant siting and carrying out all the necessary feasibility studies for the construction of NPPs not just in Ukraine but in foreign countries as well. Developing projects abroad, KIEP works and prepares design documentation strictly in accordance with the domestic legislation of an ordering party.

Commissioned by RUE «Belnipienergoprom», Belorussia, in 2007-2008 KIEP carried out a feasibility study for Belarusian NPP, as well as performed a geotechnical work package at the stage of this plant siting. The approved site is located close to the north-western border of Belorussia, 18 kilometers from Ostravyets, a city in the Grodno Region.

Belarusian NPP is going to have two power units with the WWER-1200/491 reactor type. Consequently, the output capacity of the NPP according to the project developed is 2400 MW.

The first unit is due to be put into operation in 2019.
